It used to be that plasma tv’s were all the rage because they were capable of building bigger televisions than LCD’s. In recent years they have been on decline as bigger and bigger LCD screens have hit the market. With the advent of 3D TV however, plasma’s make a comeback.
Plasma tv’s have two advantages over LCD screens, both of which are important for 3D TV: speed and contrast ratio. a 3D TV must show images at twice the speed of a normal HDTV so this is important. Contrast ratio gives color more depth. Black objects are darker and whites are brighter.
